I’ve thought about this post for some time now. In my head, I’ve written and rewritten it time after time to find the right words I’ve gone to publish it only to back out at the last minute. I’ve been hesitating, not because I didn’t know what to say but, because deep down I knew I wasn’t ready to say it. I LOVE TRAVELLING! KimmyV has been travelling for the pass 20 years, on a number of occasions I’ve been asked to join her but have never been interested. Now look whats happened, i cant get the trip out of my head and that’s what i was afraid of i want to return back to some of the great destinations and explore others. Family is everything in Croatia. An extremely high value is placed on family relations, and they can often act as the social center of life in the country. I never had that here in Australia the living of Croats is and was a lot different to those that still live at home, Croatia. I never learnt the language or much culture either but being myself and not letting anything get in the way i wanted to find what i could about Croatian life and the cuisine.
Croatian experience wouldn’t be complete without trying traditional and local Croatian cuisine. Croatia is known for variety of traditional meals making it heterogeneous as each region has its own distinct way of preparing different meals. When it comes to food, Croatians have A LOT to offer. You are not going to stay hungry, especially if you have the chance to eat at any Croatian baka place, they are known to cook for a small
army even if they have only two people coming to lunch. Ajvar is a typical Balkan condiment; either served as side dish or as bread spread The best is with Cevapi a skinless minced sausage with spices. I do love to cook and its not new to me and since I’ve been back in Austraila, I’ve been cooking more traditional dishes.
Being able to travel is a beautiful privilege not everyone is able to experience. When we think of traveling and adventuring around the globe, unforgettable memories cross our minds. Our trip: taking us on en route between famous Croatian old towns and architectural marvels – Dubrovnik. As we did boating along the coast starting in stunningly intact walled city Dubrovnik in the Adriatic sea we will get to explore the most beautiful side of Croatia.
